ABOUT Q'S
Q’s Bar-B-Que was imagined and created by Laura Medina of Bremerton, WA. She opened the doors for business in March 2006 and have been serving traditional southern style
barbeque and side dishes to delighted customers ever since.
Chef Garland grew up in Louisiana and Texas and acquired many of his cooking skills in the
kitchens of his Grandmother and Mother. From them he learned that cooking is not just
about preparing food but about tradition as well. This “tradition of flavor” is what sets Q’s
apart from other barbeque.
Family gatherings always offered opportunities to learn from other family members such as
Uncle Sonny, Uncle Buster and “The Master” himself, Uncle Edward. “Secret” recipes for dry
and wet rubs utilizing a blend of herbs and spices and the method of slow-smoked cooking of
ribs, beef brisket and chicken were handed down through the generations. Together, this
produces a variety of delicious smoked meats, which can be sampled with or without Q’s
specialty barbeque sauce. Add a couple of the wonderful side dishes and you have truly
experienced a southern “tradition of flavor”.
Q’s Barbeque uses only hickory wood pellets rather than traditional wood logs. Combined
with state of the art pellet smokers, just the right amount of natural hickory wood smoke is
transferred to the meats resulting in a healthier and cleaner taste.
